Initial Situation
The Brandenburg University of Technology (short BTU) has the mission to develop practice-oriented solutions for shaping major future challenges and transformation processes through scientific expertise.
The BTU’s Graduate Research School also starts exactly at this point and aims to prepare early-career researchers as effectively as possible for future requirements in science, business, and society.
Thematic focus areas include: Data Science & Artificial Intelligence.
Goal
The goal of BTU is to optimally prepare early-career researchers in the field of data science for their future professional tasks. This is to be achieved with the support of an external partner who is familiar with the methodological foundations of data science and AI and who also has valuable practical experience.
Solution
To achieve this goal, BTU has relied on the proven expertise of eoda since 2021. eoda supports BTU in implementing its annual qualification program in the field of data science.
A key component of the qualification program is programming training in the two leading data science languages, Python & R. These range from introductory courses to more advanced training. A selection of the offered trainings:
- Introduction to Data Science with R and Python
- Regression analysis with R and Python
- Machine learning with R and Python
In addition to the classic training elements, BTU and eoda also offer a research workshop. This format enables early-career researchers at BTU to discuss specific data science topics and projects with eoda’s experts and, through this exchange, receive suitable solution approaches.
In addition to the programming trainings, eoda’s experts have also trained BTU members in the fundamentals of artificial intelligence.
